All of these things are easily changed depending on your reading environment and make it so you can see the screen whether you are in bright sunlight ore reading in a dark room. Once you do the initial setup, you can adjust the font style and size, the brightness of the screen, etc. Just like with any kind of technology, there is a little bit of a learning curve with reading on an eReader/Kindle but once you get the hang of it, it super easy! There are so many online resources that can teach you how to use almost anything now and the Kindle walks you through the set up similar to when you get a new iPhone. Now that they have been a part of mainstream reading for some time now, I think everyone was able to see that they are just another option for reading and it doesn’t have to be one or the other! I will never stop buying books but ebooks have been a wonderful addition to my reading life.

I remember when e-readers and ebooks first came on the scene in a larger way and there was this idea that hard copy books would become obsolete. Your Kindle ebook will expire after 21 days, so there is no need to return it. Your Kindle will need to have WiFi enabled to receive the book, so if you don't see it make sure you are connected and you have synced your Kindle. Then, go to your Kindle library to begin reading. You will be prompted to sign in to your Amazon account and send the title to your Kindle, all in one or two clicks. Tap that and you will be taken to Amazon. Next to the title you will see the option to read on Kindle. Once you have a title checked out, go to My Account and Loans on the Libby website. Most ebook titles are available in the Kindle format, but to be sure you can check the listed formats on the detail page for the title. Once you've sign in on Libby, search for an ebook and check it out (or place it on hold). Sign in with your Richland Library card # and PIN. You can find this link on our home page under Download & Stream. If you have a Kindle e-reader, you may check out Kindle eBooks through the library's Libby website. Richland Library card holders may borrow 20 Libby titles at a time, or 15 hoopla titles per month. Then launch the app to search for, borrow, and download eBooks. Search for the Libby or Hoopla apps in your device's app store and follow the steps to install. A Kindle Fire tablet can be loaded with apps that Richland Library card holders may use for reading library eBooks.
